NO goalie or player stats changed will be accepted. Once the game is finalized we can not edit player and goalie stats after the game is over. What the referee tells the timekeeper is considered final. The team coaches must inform the timekeepers who the starting goalie is and any player roster changes. The team manager approves the roster and jersey numbers before the start of the tournament.
ROSTERS CHANGES - NOT ALLOWED AFTER THE START OF YOUR FIRST GAME
Body Contact ONLY ALLOWED in 2009 - 2010 - 2011
Roster Ruling: Players can only be rostered to ONE TEAM in the entire tournament regardless of age.
Mercy Rule:
The clock will run after the first period if there is a 6 goal difference. If the clock will go back to stop time if the score is less than a 6 goal difference. Penalties during run time will be 3 minutes.
Mouthguards / Neckguards
Are required if your Province or State requires them during your winter season. Saskatchewan, for example, does not require mouthguards.
Rosters:
Please come to the tournament office before your first game to verify your roster and spelling of names and jersey numbers. Please note no changes can be made once your first game starts. Also no ruling on your roster size.
Periods:
3 x 20 Minute stop time periods
Overtime:
Only in playoff games. Games that are tied in round-robin remain tied.
Overtime Playoffs - NHL Format:
- 5 Minute stop time period (3 on 3 format)
- 3 man shootout if still tied
- sudden death shootout if still tied
Game Sheets:
Will be available online following each game and copies can be requested at the main tournament office in the Keystone Centre.
Pucks:
The AAA Hockey Challenge DOES NOT provide any warm up pucks.
Penalty Boxes:
The AAA Hockey Challenge provides one timekeeper and one stats person per game. We DO NOT provide staff to work the penalty box doors and each team can provide a parent if they so wish.
Fighting:
Removed from the current game. If you fight in the last 10 minutes you are suspended one game.
Majors:
Subject to tournament committee decision on the penalty call. Players can expect a minimum of 1 game to 5 game suspension.
Minor Penalties:
4 Minors - removed from the game with no further suspension
3 Stick infractions - removed from the game with no further suspension
Player Warm Ups
Please if your team is doing warm ups to do so outside the Keystone Centre - Sportsplex and J & G Arenas
Standard Hockey Manitoba - Hockey Canada rules will apply

2 points – win the first period
2 points - win the second period
2 points – win the third period
6 points – to the team that wins the game
1 point – shutout
1 points – for the team with the least penalty minutes ( new feature )
1 point - if you tie the period
3 points - if you tie the game
Maximum per game of 14 points
